Privacy notice.
This website includes no analytics, advertising scripts, third-party fonts or embedded booking calendar. The contact form does not send anything to the site: it opens your own email app. I use personal data only to reply to you, do the work and keep proper business records, and I do not sell it.
Who I am
This website is run by Josh Rogers, an independent CAD drafter working as Josh Rogers CAD (“I”, “me”). I work remotely with clients in several countries. I decide how and why personal data is used for my enquiries and business records.
- Email: josh@joshrogerscad.com
What I collect, and how
When you visit this website. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard technical logs (for example your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time) to run and protect the service. I do not use them to identify visitors. The site code does not set cookies or use local storage. Your browser may cache ordinary site files. Cloudflare may use security cookies depending on the protections enabled.
When you email me or use the contact form. The “Open email draft” button does not send your details to my website. It asks your chosen email app or webmail service to prepare a draft. Your email provider handles the draft and message under its own terms. What I receive is whatever you choose to write: usually your name, company, email address, the project and any files you attach.
When we arrange or hold a call. Calls can take place on Microsoft Teams or another platform we agree. I do not record calls. An online booking calendar is not currently embedded in this website; if one is added, this notice will explain how booking details are handled.
When you contact me through LinkedIn. LinkedIn’s own privacy policy applies to what you share there. If we continue by email, this notice applies to the emails.
Project files. If you hire me, you may send survey data such as point clouds, drone or photogrammetry imagery, drawings and notes. Some of it can contain personal data, for example people or vehicles in imagery, names on drawings, or the location of a private property. Email is not end-to-end encrypted, so if the material is sensitive, tell me and we will agree a secure way to share it. Please do not send sensitive personal data such as health or criminal records.
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote, at your request.
- To do the work, communicate with you and invoice you.
- To keep accounts and tax records, as the law requires.
- To keep this website and my email secure.
I do not send newsletters or marketing emails and I do not use your details for advertising. I do not make decisions about people using automated systems. If any of this changes I will update this notice.
Survey data you send me
For contact details and business records, I decide how the data is used. For personal data inside survey files you send for a project, you (or your client) normally decide what it is for, and I use it only on your instructions to produce the drawings you ask for. I do not reuse it for other clients, publish it or share it outside the agreed workflow. I carry out the work myself. Any additional help would need your agreement first and the same confidentiality terms. I delete the data or return it at the end of the job or when you ask. Copies in routine backups are removed when the backup cycle overwrites them. If your organisation needs a data processing agreement or NDA, send yours or ask for mine.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website.
- Google (Google Workspace), which provides my email and calendar.
- Microsoft, for Teams calls.
- My accountant, accounting or invoicing software, bank or payment provider, for invoices and payments.
- Professional advisers or insurers if I need their help, and public authorities where the law requires it.
These providers act under their own terms and privacy policies, and some handle data in other countries. I do not sell personal data.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: deleted after 12 months.
- Project emails, quotes and invoices: for as long as tax and accounting rules where I am based require, which is typically several years.
- Your project files: deleted or returned at the end of the job or when you ask, as agreed in the quote.
Security
I use secure transfer, or I work inside your own portal or remote session, so project data stays where you keep it. I use access controls and two-step sign-in on my accounts. No method of transfer is completely risk free, so tell me if you want a specific arrangement.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to me at the address above and I will reply within one month. It is free, and I may ask you to confirm who you are first. Some rights cannot apply in every situation, for example I cannot delete invoices I must keep for tax. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site code does not set cookies or use local storage. It includes no analytics, advertising trackers, embedded video, maps or third-party fonts. Cloudflare may use cookies needed to operate security protections, depending on the features enabled. If I add any of these later, I will list them here and ask for consent first where the law requires it. Links to other sites, such as LinkedIn, lead to services with their own privacy policies.
Changes to this notice
I will update this page if how I use personal data changes, and change the date at the top.
